Current works by Paula Doepfner, Jens Hanke, Peter Hock, Anne Lohrmann, Petra Lottje, Ev Pommer, Karen Scheper, Beate Spitzmüller and Tina Tahir are on display.
Dotted, hatched, linear, curved, with colour or without - drawing is immediacy of expression. The radical reduction of means, which at the same time forms processes in the line, unfolds movement, allows superimpositions to emerge and develops three-dimensionality on the surface, inspires in its complexity.
"Stroke by stroke" is the title of the second show in the "Drawing" exhibition series. Exemplary works from nine different artistic positions, in whose oeuvre drawing plays a decisive role, are shown in order to trace the fascination for drawing, which also results from this directness, in its diversity of expression.
Large-scale wall installations that spread across the GalerieETAGE alternate with delicate, sensitive drawing structures and works that venture into the room. Some of them are created especially for the exhibition, also in reaction to the rooms.
