Beate Spitzmüller, from the series: Black with Line in Motion, 2025The exhibition “Irre Lichter” (Crazy Lights) by the artists' network Frauenmuseum Berlin shows works by Caty Forden, Uschi Niehaus, and Beate Spitzmüller. Using various artistic media, the works approach a state of shimmering that simultaneously describes/encompasses dissolution and searching movement. The works oscillate between figuration and abstraction, between history and the present, between recognition and unlearning. The result is a fragile cartography of perception—sometimes delicate and poetic, sometimes garish and disturbing.
