The exhibition “Milky Way Berlin” highlights the breadth of artistic creativity at Milchhof and is a special event not only for visitors but also for the artists themselves, as such a comprehensive and concentrated insight as that offered in Frankfurt is rare.
The Milchhof e.V. studio community was founded in 1991 on the grounds of Nordmilch AG on Arkonaplatz in Berlin-Mitte and moved to a neighboring former school in 2004. Today, more than 50 artists work here in the fields of painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, video, performance, dance, music, composition, choreography, directing, and journalism.
The Milchhof studio community organizes exhibitions, workshops, and other events to promote artists and art. This has led to the development of initiatives and platforms such as the Pavillon am Milchhof, super bien! Berlin – Gewächshaus für zeitgenössische Kunst (greenhouse for contemporary art), the Aula im Milchhof, artspring Berlin – künstlerisches Projektbüro für Pankow (artistic project office for Pankow) with the artspring festival, the artothek berlin, and the podcast Kaffee, Brot und Schilf (coffee, bread, and reeds).
On the occasion of the association's 35th anniversary, we are looking forward to our guest appearance in Frankfurt and to the return visit of the Kunstverein Familie Montez, which will continue this cooperation with exhibitions in our Pavillon am Milchhof in Berlin in March/April and September/October 2026.
